Angie has radiation through next thursday and then she is done- seems like she has reached the max for one area to be radiated so she will not have more on this area at least. She is having a lot of trouble eating and drinking because her esphogus is so raw so she has pain medicine for that and then anti nausea stuff for the pain meds. She is really looking forward to having the radiation done.
Angie had her last chemo in this treatment plan on Friday the 18th. This week is her week off. The chemo doc does not want to wait until mid Feb for the PET scan without doing anything so he is planning a more specific CT scan for her sternum area that will allow him to see if there has been change in the tumors in that area. If there is shrinkage - he is reccommending surgery in Denver to remove these masses. If not, then a stronger chemo regime will start right away. The scan is on the 25th. The results and new treatment plan appt. will be on the 28th.
The PET scan is still scheduled for mid February and will be more comprehensive and not just focus on one area but we are glad they are moving forward with more information and treatment between now and then. Will update after the scan results are available.
