Rick just called and there was relief in his voice and laughing in the background. Great news today at the scan report with the doctors. The scan was meant to determine the impact of the systemic chemo that Angie received two weeks ago on the tumors and lesions in her lungs and her abdomen. The tumor in her lung showed 'marked improvement' and there were also a couple of small lesions on her liver that were gone. The cancer had not spread in her abdomen. The family is celebrating this weekend with a fundraiser at church and a family birthday party for Angie's grandfather.
Next steps: Angie will start daily chemo again next Wed through Friday and then will have three weeks off before another scan to look at her tumors again. There should also be a brain scan to look at the progress from the radiation she received (ended this week) in the next couple of weeks.
Hooray for good news!
