On this special day - I wanted to post an announcement about a very special event that some fine folks from Our Saviour Lutheran are hosting this Sunday. This is just one of so many generous and thoughtful events that friends around Greeley are doing for the Fooshees. Through the struggles of this journey, the emails, calls, notes, gifts, cards, meals, prayers and everything else have been so uplifting and Angie and Rick (along with all those who love them) are so grateful and humbled by the time and energy so many have dedicated to them and their family. Thank you.
The event described below came out of 1) the R.A.K. Attack wanting to do something for Angie and 2) Patricia and Marlene's visit to see Angie last week. She was eating a grape popsicle during our visit and has been eating a lot of them during her treatments. Nothing else has really tasted good to her.
Angie is currently home recovering from her latest round of chemo and radiation trying to negate the cancer cells in her liver and brain. The family remains very hopeful and are an inspiration! CFJ children made her large valentine cards last Sunday and sent with Maddie and Jacob to take to her and the Prayer Shawl ministry gave me a prayer shawl last night to take to her. The family is very appreciative for all being done!
Invitation to the Congregation.......
Sunday, February 24th, has been designated as "Purple Popsicle Prayer" Sunday in honor of Angie Fooshee. Angie (and her husband Rick) have both been very active in the Children's Faith Journey program here at Our Savior's for several years, dedicating many hours to the education of our children. Angie is currently battling a rare form of cancer, undergoing chemo and radiation treatments.
The CFJ 4th and 5th graders (R.A.K. Attack) will be serving cinnamon rolls and popsicles in the parish hall after both services on the 24th. Angie has been eating a lot of grape popsicles during her treatment and recovery process. The prayers attached to the popsicle you will receive are some of the prayers she has been reading recently. Please join us in this support of the Fooshee family and the R.A.K Attack in their efforts to make a difference in someone's life. A free will offering for the Fooshee's will be taken!

YEAH! That is awesome! What a cute idea!
I'm sure Angie is thrilled with having "Purple Popsicle Fame". :-)
Its very heart-warming to hear of all the community involvement, particularly from the children.
I'm glad you are home Angie!!!
What a great idea. I think we will try to do some grape popsickle activity here with our sunday school or Matt's Exercise and Cancer Recovery group?? I'll let you know! Either way my family will have one and pray for you Sunday!! I love it!
Thanks for inspiring all of us!

I will never look at purple popcicles--or any color popcicle for that matter-- the same way ever again. Seriously. We'll be at church Sunday. Ethan and I still pray for you guys daily. Keep it up! You all are doing so well!!!
Peace-Cory
All right! An advanced and heartfelt thank you to all the purple-lipped people that will be out and about in Greeley on the 24th! Our families in Minnesota will also enjoy purple popsicles that day in honor of Angie's courage and strength.
We love you Angie! Call if you need ANYTHING!!

Hi Angie, hope you are feeling ok today, you are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. Is your church able to bring people to you for a "healing", friends and family laying hands on you and praying? I would like to do this, if you are interested. please let me know, nikki[your cousin]
Way to go everyone! I'm so glad that you are home angie! I think the purple popsickle idea is great and we will be joining you with prayer here in south carolina. If I can help in any way, please just let me know. Lots of love to you angie and your family!
