Unexpected Results

Hi everyone, At a follow-up appointment yesterday, it was discovered that two of the three brain tumors show no active cancer. The third tumor has unfortunately grown slightly over the last two months. This means that Angie will be undergoing a procedure known as stereotactic radiosurgery (similar to Cyberknife) to irradiate the active tumor. The treatment is basically a radiation treatment, similar to what she had before, only the radiation beam is focused in on only the tumor itself, instead of the entire brain. We are unsure if all three tumor areas will be treated, or only the one active spot. It is a minimally invasive procedure.

It seemed likely that this option would have been explored sooner or later, in order to prevent the tumors from growing in the future. We are very glad that the doctor advised an MRI yesterday, to determine the cause of Angie's symptoms (weakness and shakes in her left arm).

It is unknown at this point when this new treatment will occur, but Angie's doctor is searching for the soonest available opening in the area (Greeley, Boulder or Denver). For now, her chemotherapy treatment is still scheduled for next Monday, with a one night stay at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. The radiation treatment is also not expected to interrupt her chemotherapy schedule too much, so she will stay on track with those treatments.

Our Savior's is also holding another fundraiser for us on June 13th and 14th at the Church. It is a crafting and scrapbooking theme. I will post more infromation later on this event.

Thanks for your prayers, positive vibes and thoughts, the Fooshees.

Hi Angie!
I just wanted you to know, daddy had a super radiation treatment to his brain tumor. It shrunk and he never had problems with it again. I hope and pray this will be your outcome, as well.

We've been dealing with flooding and tornadoes, so we're having an active spring. Mom told me about Windsor's tornado. Crazy! We don't have tv or internet at the house, so mom fills me in on happenings and keeps me updated on your progress.

You mean so much to me.
Love, Susi
