Getting Angie home...

I was able to see Angie and company over the weekend at McKee. She received her last chemo treatment and will be recovering from them this week. Radiation was pushed off for now - the chemo is pretty hard on her and she needs to gain her strength to continue with the radiation. For now the plan is to spread the radiation for her brain out over more time with a less intense dose. Angie will be resting and gaining strength over this week with the focus on going home! A visit from the therapy dogs was a nice treat on Saturday morning - we all enjoyed them but especially Maddie and Jacob. For now, Rick and Kathy will be at the hospital with Angie through the week with Aunt Janet helping out with the kids. Once Angie is home, the family can have some time together and get settled into a routine again.

Angie's room is papered in flowers, cards and momentos of support PLUS Scott elementary delivered a huge box of cards made by the kids and notes and other gifts from the teachers and parents. They are hosting a read a thon tomorrow for Angie as well. The support is heart warming and unbelievable. Thank you to everyone from friends to family, from church to schools, from near and far. Difficult times in life like these really are made lighter through the love and strength of others.

Though Angie would love visitors this week - it is better that she rests and gains her strength. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers - I will update when she is home and settled in.

I'm sorry you guys are having such a hard time. I also just wanted to say that my family is praying for rest, healing and LOVE for you and your family. When Beth wrote that the love and support helps I thought of looking up in 1 John 4

Where there is love He's there too!!

"let us love one another, for love is from God" 1 John 4:7

"if we love one another God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us." 1 John 4:12

"God is Love" 1 John 4:16

Hope you can have good days to follow and get stronger and enjoy the "love" from Him through all of us who really care and are pulling for you!
